The RMS platform has 4 different types of resources that can be acquired to enjoy the services in the following way:
Créditos and Management packs
Allow:
- Monitoring
- Management
- Configuration
Company data and Connection data packs
Allow:
- The connection to devices behind the router through RMS Connect
- The use of VPN connections through RMS VPN hubs
All these resources are visible and you can check them on thep Company details page in RMS
Credits
Credits are the most flexible option since they can be assigned to any device for monitoring by RMS and can also be exchanged for company data if more data is needed for RMS Connect and RMS VPN services. Each credit remains active for 30 days on the device it was assigned to and allows remote monitoring and connection (web or CLI) only to that device during the activation period.
Management pack
This would be the preferred option for those users who require continuous access and monitoring of a device. These packages allow the device to remain connected to RMS for the specified period of time purchased, but they do not provide any connection data pack on the device nor do they add any company data volume.
The Management packs are currently available for 3, 5, or 10 years of duration.
A package can only be activated and associated with a specific device. Once activated, it cannot be transferred to any other device (for exceptions, contact the provider or manufacturer directly).
Company data
This resource is shared among all remote accesses (RMS Connect) and VPN hubs in a company. In the case of having subsidiary companies (second level), each of these companies has independent resources at an individual level.
These company data can be converted and added from our pool of acquired credits (1 credit = 2 GB of company data).
Each new company created in RMS has 5 GB of data to test RMS Connect and RMS VPN services. Once exhausted, they must be recharged using credits as indicated in the previous point.
Important: Connections to Teltonika devices (CLI / WebUI) DO NOT consume company data as they are included in credits or management packages.
Connection data pack
Los Connection data packs are an alternative to Company data if you consume a very high amount of traffic through RMS Connect sessions from a specific device or via an RMS VPN hub to which this device is associated. A device that has been activated with a Connection data pack has its own traffic volume, which will be used instead of the regular company data during the validity period of that Connection data pack. If the volume of this data pack is exhausted before the end of this period, the device will revert to consuming the regular (company) data.
Currently, there are 150GB packages to use over 10 years.
These packages are usually activated on devices with high data consumption for remote sessions, for example through SFTP connections for remote file transfer or HTTP/HTTPS for remote viewing of CCTV IP cameras.
As with management packs, the Connection data pack is activated on a specific device and CANNOT be transferred to any other device.
Important: Connections to Teltonika devices (CLI / WebUI) DO NOT use data from the Data connection pack as they are included in the management credits or packages.

Use of data in VPN hubs
- RMS devices that use company data – Any router (RMS device) added to a VPN hub should connect automatically to the hub. In the event of exhausting company data, these devices will appear as disabled in the VPN hub. When data is reloaded, it will be necessary to manually enable the hub (in the Clients tab).
- RMS devices that use individual data packages – Unlike the previous case, if our company’s data runs out, these devices that still have remaining data in their individual pack will not be affected. Likewise, the VPN hub will consume data from this individual pack to keep any enabled Custom user or RMS user connected on that hub since the company’s data has already been exhausted.
- Custom users and RMS users – They are users who connect to the VPN hub through the downloaded OVPN file from the RMS platform. Practically, it refers to users who connect to the VPN via their computer or smartphone, or even through third-party routers that support VPN configuration using the said OVPN file and can be integrated into the same network. Below, we show the data consumption for these Custom users and RMS users:
- If the VPN hub does not have Teltonika devices or if all of them are using company data – all Custom and RMS users will use company data
- If the VPN HUB ONLY has devices with individual data packs – Custom and RMS users will use data from these packs (the consumption will be evenly distributed among the different device packs).
- If the VPN hub has a mix of devices that use company data and devices with individualized data packs – Custom and RMS users will default to using company data.
- If the VPN hub has a mix of devices that use company data and devices with individualized data packs, and the company data runs out – all devices using this company data will be disconnected from the VPN immediately, and Custom and RMS users will start consuming data from the individual data packs of the remaining devices on the hub that will stay connected even if the company data has been exhausted.
In the following videos, all these resources are explained in detail (in English).
