Do I have to activate the SIM card manually?
No, your SIM card is already prepared for activation. Simply manually configure the APN on your device according to the instructions you will receive, and it will automatically be activated. The card’s validity period begins at the moment of activation.
What types of networks and operators do these cards support?
Prepaid IoT SIM cards support 4G LTE, 3G, and 2G technology. They do not work with NB-IoT or LTE CATM technology.
Do not manually force the network type, and the card will automatically select the best mobile operator technology with the available network that has the strongest signal.
How can I find out the data I have used and the remaining time left?
All this information is available through the user portal. When you receive the SIM card and have activated it, you will be able to register on said portal by entering the SIM card’s ICCID and view this information as well as usage statistics over time.
How can I avoid running out of data?
On the portal, you can activate the ‘AUTO REFILL’ option, which allows you, by entering credit card details, to automatically recharge the card with the same data and original duration before the balance runs out or it expires. In any case, even if you do not activate automatic recharge, we will always send you an email when you have few data or days of validity left.
Can I use these cards to browse the Internet or make downloads?
Yes, you can use them for these purposes, but we do not recommend it. Prepaid IoT cards are designed for applications with low data volume since their price per GB is higher than in other plans. Their main advantage is that they are multi-operator and have a long-term expiration.
Do I have access to voice calls or SMS messages?
These cards do not have voice service.
However, they do allow the sending and receiving of short messages (SMS) at no additional cost, always within reasonable use. You can find the mobile number of the SIM card on the user portal or you can also send yourself an SMS from your device. This number does not have national Spanish numbering, and therefore sending SMS messages from a national number may incur additional charges on your plan. We recommend that you consult your mobile operator.
Is it necessary for me to register on the user portal?
It is not necessary for the use of the SIM card. However, it is highly recommended since otherwise the system cannot give you the option of automatic recharge nor notify you if your SIM card is about to run out or expire, or if it has been inserted into another device.
Can I use my SIM card in more than one device?
Of course, you can use your SIM card in as many devices as you want. If you are going to insert it into an unattended device, we recommend that you request the suspension of the card in case of a change in the IMEI of the associated device. In any case, if you need to cancel the suspension because you really want to change the card to another device once the protection has been activated, contact us and we will do it for you at no cost.
I need more data volume, is that possible?
Yes, in our Online Store we only sell certain models of SIM cards with 500MB, 1GB, and 10GB. If you need a data volume greater than a year, you can contact us by sending an email to info@davantel.com with your request, and we will provide you with an offer for the requested model.
